Creating Opportunities for Girls
SHEEO (Solidarity for Her Education and Empowerment Organization) is a girl-centered nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering rural adolescent girls in Tanzania through education, leadership development, protection, life skills, and economic empowerment. We work to ensure that every girl has the opportunity, support, and confidence to overcome barriers and build a brighter future.
Through community-driven solutions and a holistic empowerment approach, we help girls stay in school, develop essential skills, exercise their rights, and become confident leaders who create positive change in their lives and communities.

empowerment opportunities that enable them to overcome poverty, gender-noms barriers,
realize their full potential, and become confident leaders who transform their lives and
communities.

SHEEO’s programs and interventions are guided by the following integrated objectives:
- To ensure that rural adolescent girls, both in-school and out-of-school, can access, remain in, and successfully complete quality education while developing foundational, digital, and innovation-related skills.
- To improve the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of rural adolescent girls through sexual and reproductive health education, life skills development, psychosocial support, and protection services.
- To equip out-of-school and transitioning adolescent girls with vocational, entrepreneurial, employability, and financial literacy skills that promote sustainable livelihoods and economic independence.
- To empower rural adolescent girls to develop leadership skills, advocate for gender equality, and actively participate in decision-making processes that affect their lives and communities.
- To strengthen the role of parents, caregivers, schools, and community leaders in supporting girls’ education, protection, well-being, and long-term development.
