2025-2050 Target

SHEEO envisions a future where every adolescent girl, regardless of her socio-economic
background or geographical location, has the opportunity, support, and confidence to reach
her full potential. Between 2025 and 2050, SHEEO aims to directly reach, support, and positively impact the lives of 2.5 million impoverished rural adolescent girls across the Lake Victoria Zone of Tanzania, particularly in the regions of Kagera, Geita, Mwanza, Simiyu, and Mara. Through
integrated interventions in education, leadership, wellbeing, protection, life skills, and economic empowerment, SHEEO will equip girls with the knowledge, skills, resources, and opportunities needed to build resilient, dignified, and economically independent lives. These regions continue to face significant development challenges, including widespread poverty, gender inequality, harmful socio-cultural norms, child marriage, adolescent pregnancy, gender-based violence, and limited educational and economic opportunities for girls. Such barriers often restrict girls’ aspirations and undermine their ability to contribute fully to their families, communities, and the nation. By working closely with families, schools, community leaders, government institutions, and development partners, SHEEO seeks to transform the environment surrounding girls and
create communities where every girl is safe, educated, empowered, and able to thrive.
